The restaurant was founded by Santiago Revuelta in 1966, who came from Valladolid and arrived in the city with little, but with a great desire to work, to grow and to make his dream come true. More than a tavern, it was the place for the well-to-do to be seen and the place to go with a good appetite to pass through the traditional Calle Latoneros 3 of Madrid capital.

In the Madrid de los Austrias, a few steps from the Plaza Mayor and very close to the Convento de las Carboneras del Corpus Christi, you will find this symbol of genuine, honest and sincere food, where the house specialty is: battered cod slices, a fascination for locals and visitors alike. To such an extent that the place is a culinary ritual for those who love to eat well. The recipe has remained faithful since 1966 and is a family secret that has been passed down from generation to generation. In fact, it is said that it has never been written on paper. Only whispered in the ear of those who have the honour of making this wonder in the kitchen.

Casa Revuelta is a traditional tavern with all the authentic details. It is decorated with Moorish-inspired tiles, silver bar and wood ceilings, making it a unique experience that has been refined over the decades.The best draft beers in the city according to experts, as well as bottled wine, chilled vermouth, crispy pork crackling, traditional tripe and flavoursome croquettes, just a sample of this classic menu where children, parents, and grandparents have all enjoyed the experience at the bar and at the tables. A small place, but with an immense history over the years. A place where the long queue to wait for a table doesn’t bother anyone, because those who serve always manage to accommodate customers diligently and with a smile.

In November 2021, after a difficult year for everyone, Casa Revuelta has grown and opened a second location, a few metres away, on Calle de Cuchilleros 10. A great tavern setting, with the same quality, tradition and zest in the recipes, products and preparations, but with a more extensive menu. There is more interior space and a welcoming terrace. Revuelta is located at Calle de Cuchilleros 10, central Madrid and, of course, the house specialty of battered cod is not to be missed.
